About Brooks L. Griffin

Brooks L. Griffin is a Minister and dynamic motivational speaker with over a decade of experience working with faith-based communities, non-profit organizations, and professional sports. As a 4th-generation preacher, Brooks draws on his rich heritage of ministry and his personal journey to help leaders bridge the gap between mental health and faith. Brooks’ unconventional path to ministry has shaped his unique approach to addressing the complex issues of trauma, leadership, and mental health.

Brooks attended Southwestern Christian College, which laid the foundation for his theological understanding, before embarking on a diverse career that led him to work with leading nonprofits in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His early career began in the non-profit sector, where he served as a youth development professional and advocate for underserved communities. During this time, he worked with several prominent organizations, including the Milwaukee Bucks, leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and community outreach programs designed to uplift youth and families.Despite his success in the corporate world, Brooks felt called to ministry, where he could use his experiences to serve churches and nonprofits through trauma-informed care & ministry.

Now based in Waukegan, IL, Brooks serves as Senior Minister of North Shore Church of Christ. Brooks has worked with churches and organizations across the country, consulting and speaking on integrating practical practices into ministry settings in order to foster healing and growth. In addition to his faith-based work, Brooks is passionate about employee well-being and leadership development within youth & family serving organizations. He consults with non-profits, corporate organizations, and managers on how to support youth, families & employees affected by trauma, addressing both the visible and hidden effects of working with traumatized populations.

His signature story—overcoming a high ACE (Adverse Childhood Experience) score to later achieve success in the corporate world and then transitioning into ministry—has inspired young audiences nationwide. Brooks’ mission is to help Christian leaders and organizations create safe, supportive environments for individuals and families affected by toxic stress & trauma. He believes that true success comes from integrating faith and mental health into all aspects of leadership and community service. Brooks' message is clear: through trauma-informed leadership, we can build healthier communities where mental health and faith work hand in hand to promote healing and growth.

When not engaging with leaders and working with organizations, Brooks loves to spend his time traveling with his fiancé & two beautiful daughters, Harmonee & Brylee.

That's right! He’s a #GirlDad!
